WILLIAM O. EWING III

Bill Ewing is an accomplished, highly regarded portrait painter.  His portraits grace the walls of universities, clubs, corporations and government buildings.  In addition, Ewing’s realistic still-life paintings can be found in many distinguished collections.

Ewing studied with Arthur DeCosta at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia.  His extensive travels in Europe led him to study paintings of the old masters. His rich, realistic style responds to the work of 17th Century Dutch painting.

Ewing’s quality and growing reputation in portraiture has been rewarded by many recommendations and commissions by corporate commissions and private collectors, both here and abroad.

Ewing’s studio is along the Brandywine Creek in scenic Chester County, Pennsylvania.  Ewing paints from life or photographs. Of course, life sittings can lead to the best results.  Posthumous portraits are welcome with adequate high quality photographs.
